Zuzeum Bauhaus Carnival – experience an evening of extravagance and costume within the exhibition!

On Friday, October 31, Zuzeum invites you to surrender to freedom, colour, and rhythm at the Bauhaus Carnival, transforming the museum into a radiant space of light, sound, and movement.

Within the atmosphere of the exhibition “The Whole World a Bauhaus,” the spirit of the 1920s will come alive — a time when art broke free from its frames and life itself became performance.

While Bauhaus is often associated with minimalist clarity, the movement was also an eruption of creativity, courage, and theatrical freedom — filled with stage productions, costume balls, and experimental performances.

For one night only, Zuzeum will become a Bauhaus laboratory, where light, sound, and movement merge into a single performance.

Prepare your costume and enjoy a vivid, immersive evening!
The best costume of the night will be awarded.

Zuzeum Café will be open throughout the evening, offering special drinks and snacks inspired by the event.

Admission to the exhibitions “The Whole World a Bauhaus” and “Spaceship Earth” is included in the ticket price.  The exhibition halls will be open from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, event will take place till 11:00 PM.

An instrumental contemporary jazz trio freely balancing between acoustic ambience and fusion, creating a mix of colourful soundscapes and tonal textures.

20:00 — dogsitter (@100lerova) and R3YWYA (@r3ywya) / at first floor

In the performance by R3YWYA, in collaboration with dogsitter, sound is explored within space — a place where the living and the non-living meet and intertwine. Using the body as an instrument and the designed environment as a resonator, the artists experiment with materiality — with how physical objects and spatial elements interact with the human body to produce sound.
Inspired by Bauhaus ideas of unity between art, design, and space, this performance is both an intuitive and structured exploration of the everyday.

Leo Novus is one of Riga’s leading electronic musicians and a member of the Erica Synths team.
A musician with a guitarist’s sensibility towards synthesizers and a minimalist approach to composition, Leo has worked across rock, experimental sound, and contemporary dance music.
In his studio, he seeks the essence of sound, stripping away all that is unnecessary.
His improvised live performances reveal layers of ambient textures, hypnotic rhythms, and the folklore of field recordings.
