Zara Larsson announces new album and concert in Riga

Today, multiplatinum chart–topping global pop powerhouse Zara Larsson kicks her boldest era yet into overdrive with the announcement of her new album and tour. She will perform in Riga on 16 November with her only show in the Baltics as part of the tour for her new album “Midnight Sun”. Tickets for the concert at Xiaomi Arena, Riga, will go on sale on 13 June at 10.00 via the “Biļešu Serviss” ticketing network. Members of the FBI and Positivus Festival Concert Club, as well as Delfi+ subscribers, will have access to an exclusive pre-sale starting on 11 June at 10.00, using a code that will be sent to registered users.

By the age of five, Zara Larsson was already determined to become as timeless as Elvis Presley. Today, she has amassed over a billion streams with global hits like “Lush Life”, “Never Forget You”, and “Symphony” (a collaboration with UK electronic group Clean Bandit). Her achievements include three MTV Europe Music Awards and four Grammis - the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

Her rendition of "My Heart Will Go On" – the iconic song from the film "Titanic" – became the young singer’s first single and quickly boosted her popularity in Sweden. That same year, she appeared on the television show "Sommarkrysset", broadcast live from the "Gröna Lund" amusement park in Stockholm. Zara later took part in the reality series "Jag Ska Bli Stjärna" ("I’m Going to Be a Star"), while also studying ballet and visual arts.

Together with her manager, singer Laila Bagge, Zara travelled to Los Angeles to meet with major record labels. However, deals didn’t materialise at the time due to her young age. Still, her early releases in Scandinavia gained significant popularity, and with the release of her second studio album "So Good" (2017) under American label "Epic Records", Zara began gaining international recognition – a success that has only grown with each new release.

Last year, she released her lauded album “VENUS” – a powerful showcase of her elevated sound, eclectic style, and unifying vision. Not to mention, her single “Symphony” with Clean Bandit repenetrated the culture with a boisterous meme moment that has helped the video achieve over 1.3 billion views, as the song topped the TikTok Billboard chart for several weeks. It’s kismet then that Midnight Sun channels the popstar at her most unfiltered and authentic. The album is her true essence, capturing lightening in a bottle in a way that only she can. “It just feels like me – knowing myself, this album is just really, really me. And also,” says Zara, “No one can do me the way I can.”

Zara’s latest album “Midnight Sun”, set for release on 26 September, marks a new chapter in the singer’s career. Its lead single “Pretty Ugly” serves as the album’s first glimpse into this new era. “When I thought about this album, I asked myself what I really wanted to say with it. I’m very proud of my Swedish pop heritage, so I wanted to create something that reflects the Swedish summer – a time when the sun never sets,” says Zara Larsson. The ten-track album is set to feature recent single “Pretty Ugly” as well as brand-new single and title track “Midnight Sun,” which is set for release next Friday, June 13, 2025.
