The enchanting voice of an angel – Tori Amos to perform in Riga

This spring, the legendary American singer-songwriter, pianist, and one of the brightest figures in alternative music – Tori Amos – will embark on a major European tour with her brand-new album “In Times of Dragons”. On May 28, 2026, she will perform at the Xiaomi Arena Amphitheatre in Riga. This concert is expected to become one of the most significant musical events of the year in Latvia.

Tickets will go on sale starting October 10 at 10:00 AM via Biļešu Serviss. Members of the Positivus Festival and FBI Concert Club, as well as Delfi+ subscribers, will have access to presale tickets beginning October 8 at 10:00 AM.

Since her debut album “Little Earthquakes” in 1992, Tori Amos has over the years created body of work defined by fearless storytelling and a singular musical voice. Her latest work, “In Times of Dragons”, Amos' 18th album, continues this tradition, presenting a powerful journey of resilience and awakening where the pursuit of freedom meets forces that seek to control and silence. As the artist herself explains:
“In Times of Dragons is a metaphorical story about the fight for Democracy over Tyranny, reflecting the current abhorrent non accidental burning down of democracy in real time by the “Dictator believing Lizard Demons” in their usurpation of America.”

With her mesmerizing presence, striking red hair, powerful mezzo-soprano voice, and unique piano style, Tori Amos has captivated audiences worldwide for over 35 years with emotionally intense songs. Until now, Latvian fans have only experienced her performances through video recordings, where she sings passionately while playing the grand piano. For Amos, whose veins run with classical music but whose heart beats with rock’n’roll, the piano is more than just an instrument—it becomes an extension of her entire body and fiery essence.

Over the course of her career, Tori Amos has received eight Grammy nominations and sold over 12 million albums worldwide. Since the 1990s, she has been celebrated as a distinctive singer-songwriter who always accompanies herself on piano. Her countless unforgettable songs tackle powerful themes—finding one’s place in the world, relationships with religion and politics, feminism, and sexuality—all delivered with raw emotional intensity.

For Latvian fans, this long-awaited performance is especially meaningful. Since the 1990s, albums such as “Little Earthquakes”, “Under the Pink”, and “Boys for Pele” have been the soundtrack of youth for many. Now, at last, the Riga concert will give them the chance to experience Tori Amos live—an artist whose music has accompanied their lives for decades.
