Skyforger Concludes Their Anniversary Year with a Concert at Palladium Riga
Latvian heavy metal band Skyforger invites fans to the final show of the year – Vecie latvieši (Old Time Latvians) – taking place on November 12 at Palladium Riga.
This year has been particularly significant for Skyforger. Celebrating their 30th anniversary, the band has releases their new album Teikas, accompanied by a large-scale concert at the Xiaomi Arena that gathered thousands of fans.
Now, Skyforger invites everyone to come together once more as the band symbolically closes this anniversary year with a specially curated program, commemorating Lāčplēsis Day and celebrating the 107th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. Renown for exploring patriotic themes in their music, Skyforger promises to deliver an emotionally charged experience – a journey through history, ancient events, myths, and legends that have shaped the Latvian national identity.
The title of the concert, Vecie latvieši (Old Time Latvians), is taken from the final track of the band’s latest album Teikas(Folktales). The show will feature songs from the new release along with well-known fan favourites spanning from the band’s three-decade musical journey. For both long-time supporters and newcomers experiencing Skyforger live for the first time, this is an excellent opportunity to witness their grand stage presence and powerful performance, enhanced by specially designed sound and lighting effects.
Opening the evening will be Frailty – one of Latvia’s most acclaimed metal bands – known for their distinctive fusion of doom metal’s heavy atmosphere with the dark intensity of death metal.
